Hello Paddlers of the World!

This is our June 2018 Newsletter and we have some really cool SUP things we’re excited to share with you!

First things first, we want to thank all who have continued to support us and contributed their time and knowledge so generously in order to help sustain our efforts to build the most comprehensive online database of International paddle experts and SUP activities. Our mission is to connect Paddlers with Paddle Pro’s so that all can have easy access to local knowledge and enjoy safe passage across the waterways of the world.

Perfect Paddles has been designed, built, and maintained by a small crew of professional stand up paddle board teachers, SUP travel enthusiasts, paddle travel writers, and Ocean activists, with a shared mission to do our part to help continue the growth of SUP by showcasing the best paddle activities, locations and expert paddle Pro’s in the world. We will shine a light on the Paddlers who champion causes that affect us all and the hard work they do to keep our paddle community safe and clean for all.

Today, there are paddle Pro’s around the world whose passion for people, paddling and the special locations they have chosen to build their paddling life around are what make the SUP community grow at a fundamental level.

Our weekly Paddle Pro Spotlights shine a light on these expertly trained, and highly experienced paddle Pro’s who are on the water every day coaching, leading, and creating programs that highlight their home break and take paddlers of all levels up and along the learning curve. From one on one coaching for someone’s first SUP fun race in Seattle to a SUP yoga class in a breathtaking Rocky Mountains lake to multi-day excursions in the River, Philippines to the fjords of Norway, the Paddle Pro’s of the world have worked hard and earned, season by season, a knowledge base of local know-how that we are thrilled to put at your fingertips.
So, let the day dreaming begin and let the spirit of SUP adventures keep you paddling, learning, and experiencing the world from every lake shore, slot-canyon, shallow lagoon and rugged coast line. The world is yours to explore. Let’s go paddle!

we’re growing every day and can’t wait to grow even more!

Paddle Spotlights

For our feature Spotlight this week, we'll take a look at Fayetteville, West Virginia with...

Meghan Roberts of Mountain Surf Paddle Sports

About the owner -
Hi I'm Meghan, I'm passionate about the outdoors and have made it my career for the past 14 years. I start ed out traveling and working seasonally in several different guiding positions around the world before settling down in the New River Gorge in WV to start my own SUP business. We focus on professional instruction and quality rentals. We also want to make SUP more accessible to the local community and volunteer often with Active Southern West Virginia giving free SUP demos and activities. On the off season I lead SUP trips for Quark Expeditions in Antarctica!

Location Overview - New River Gorge in Fayetteville
The New River Gorge in West Virginia offers many beautiful paddle spots. Summersville lake is a unique lake with towering 80ft cliff walls surrounding the lake allowing you to climb and fall off into the water! Also some beautiful waterfalls to visit and paddle under. The New River had a nice class I-II 2 mile stretch of river that is not only scenic but exciting and a great spot to teach the basic skills of whitewater SUP and paddling in current. Kanawha Fall allows SUP paddlers to explore at the base of beautiful waterfalls. A great spot for swimming, picnicking and paddling!
