Best Time to Visit: The best time to visit Tanzania is from July to October when the country is at its driest. This coincides with the migration river crossings, however, all the parks offer amazing wildlife sightings at this time as the grasses and bush are at their least dense. (audleytravel.com)
Distance from Airport: About a 10-minute drive from Abeid Amani Karume International Airport
______________________________2 Winds is named for the two prevailing trade winds that sweep along the coast of East Africa. Kaskazi, Swahili for northern wind, blows from the northeast between December and March. While Kusi, Swahili for southern wind, blows from the southeast between July and September. These trade winds govern life in the Zanzibar Archipelago. They bring the rains and then blow them away, they dictate the best fishing spots and they act as a way of keeping time, in a place where time seems to standstill. Whilst wind is not always your best friend when you're paddling, it won't stop you from enjoying a paddle all year round. No Records Found

Tell us a little bit about yourselves:
2 Winds is a paddle sports company based in Zanzibar. We offer guided tours and adventures in beautiful lagoons, mangrove forests and the open ocean by SUP. This isn't just a business for us, it's a passion. Our ethos is to be active and under the sun, whilst appreciating and respecting the environment surrounding us. We love the people, culture, and beautiful wonders of the entire Zanzibar Archipelago.Tell us a little bit about yourself and your experience with paddleboarding:
8 years of paddling experience in local waters around Zanzibar. Please tells us more about your paddle location and service area. Anything that gets you excited about your paddle spot and want to show off we would love to hear about it:
You can find us just a 20 minute drive outside of Stone Town which is a registered UNESCO Heritage site. Our main base is in Chukwani between a beautiful mangrove forest and the sheltered Chukwani Bay. Whatever you are interested in we will have something that suits you. Whether it's exploring the waters within mangrove forests, watching an African sunset on the water, challenging yourself with SUP fitness or relaxing on a board for a social with friends and ice cold drinks. We can do it all.Do you have a "signature" paddle tour or a paddle activity you are known for that a visiting paddler wouldn't want to miss while visiting your area?:
Our Guided Mangrove Tour is our most popular tour. Join us for a guided mangrove tour stand up paddle boarding the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, exploring the natural beauty of the mangrove forest. We will show you this amazing habitat for 8 species of mangrove tree and a variety of bird and animal life. Weave your way through mangrove tunnels to the sounds of the lapping water and birdsong as our guides teach you how to SUP and show you the mangrove eco-system. This is a SUP adventure that will leave you both exhilarated and at peace. Can you tell us some interesting notes about the area?
As we are based in the tropics we don't get much change in the way of seasons, we only get the hot season and the rain season. So that means for most of the year you can get bright sunny days and perfect weather conditions for a paddle. Our mangrove forests don't really change with the seasons so they are there to be explored all year round. If you are more of an advanced paddler then check out our Downwind options (which change depending on 2 trade wind seasons we have here) for an epic adventure cruising along the swells of the Indian Ocean. Are you seasonal or do you operate year round?
We paddle all year round, although we don't advise coming in in the heavy rains (April/May) as chances are the tour will be rained off.Can you recommend the best spot(s) for a post paddle bite or drink?:
This may be a bit bias but we are the best place nearby for a post paddle bite :) We offer fresh fruits and homemade snacks after each tour to help get energy levels back up. Our chocolate chip cookies and energy balls are a big hit with many paddlers and if you want to add some cold beers to really make it a great end to the tour then we offer that as well.Where would you recommend travelers stay nearby?
Stone Town is full of great hotels and hostels, some of the better ones are Dhow Palace, Zanzibar Palace, Double Tree Hilton, Maru Maru, Mbweni Ruins, Emerson Spice, Jafferji House. And the list goes on! If you are on more of a budget then check out some cool hostels like Lost and Found, Z life, Ten to Ten and Lala Hostel. Air BnB is also very popular here and we can suggest some great ones nearby. Are there any additional activities nearby that you recommend?
Stone Town and the Island of Zanzibar as a whole has so many options of things to do. The Safari Blue boat trip is a must do in Zanzibar as well as a Stone Town Tour. if your like your water sports then there is plenty of scuba diving or free-diving, fishing, kite surfing, surfing, yacht trips, kayaking etc. We have a lot of experience on the island and are more than happy to give you our recommendations.Buddy Deal:
