Learn how to stand up paddle and have SUP lessons at Free Movement an ASI accredited learn to stand up paddle school, located at Haarlem, a charming medieval town on the banks of the Spaarne River, and only 20 minutes from Amsterdam.
Free Movement is owned and operated by Ricardo Haverschmidt and Chantal Van Ruler. They are both experienced suppers, with extensive race experience. Ricardo has participated in the 11 City SUP Tour 3 times, as well as other race events and in 2014 was ranked in the top 3 in Holland. He has instructed a range of sports including SUP, lifeguarding, ski lessons, outdoor lessons, wellness massage, personal training and group lesson and sailing lessons.
Chantal has been on the race scene since 2013 and competed in and won numerous races, including the 11 City SUP Tour. She has also provided school sports and has been a skiing instructor (beginner, intermediate levels) and Snowboard instructor (beginner, intermediate, advanced) since 2004.
Ricardo and Chantal are ASI accredited L1 & Level 2 SUP instructors for Enclosed Flat Water and Exposed Waters and hold rescue and first aid qualifications. They are assisted in the SUP school by accredited SUP instructors.
Free Movement offers group and private SUP lessons, team building, fitness workouts, and race training for children, adults, parties, school groups, tourist, universities and corporates. Board hire is also available. Each summer Freedom Movement provide a youth academy.
Lessons and tours are conducted at Haarlem. From May, lessons are also held at Reeuwijk. Youth camp is at Weesp.
There is a large range of supping locations to suit all ages and experience.
Free Movement is all about having fun in the outdoors. They can provide one lesson or help you progress to higher levels and racing. Or just come along to the social sessions and meet other people who love to SUP !
