______________________________After 25 years of paddling at Lake Tahoe, the surrounding rivers and alpine lakes, we are more excited than ever about our paddle sports.
How can we not be with all the exciting developments in Standup Paddleboards (SUPs) in the last few years. Whether you want to “ ride the glide” on a crystal clear glassy morning, downwind across the lake, or head to the coast for waves there is truly a board for everyone and we have them all. Our rental fleet includes 100 plus boards so come on down and try one out at one of our five locations. All the excitement generated by paddleboards has carried over into kayaks as well. More innovation than ever is the key. Kayaks are getting more comfortable and easier to paddle. We are also seeing hybrid kayak/paddleboards getting better but there is still work to do there. Our current rental fleet of over 150 kayaks covers at least 20 different models including sit-on-tops, traditional and recreation kayaks. So whether you are looking to rent or buy NEW we most likely have a SUP or kayak that you will love.
Aside from the great kayaks and paddleboards, our locations offer the best paddling at the lake. Just check out the locations page and you’ll see what we are talking about. Everyone’s favorite; paddling in the emerald bay from our Vikingsholm location is a real treat, the paddle and hike to the tea house on top of Fannette Island are not to be missed. The view is breathtaking and is sure to be the highlight of a Tahoe vacation.
Our staff is the best and several have been with us for over ten years. We hope that is due to Kayak Tahoe being a great place to work as much as living in Tahoe is pretty darn choice as our Kiwi manager (Debs) will let you know. So give a shout out to our “decaders”- Debs, Jeri, Blair, Kelley, and John L. We guarantee you will get friendly professional service from all our folks so feel free to pick our brains about all the great paddling at the lake. We also can provide advice about other fun activities as our staff love to hike, mountain bike, kiteboard and of course ski/board during the winter. See you on the water soon.
