Strive Adventure has been operational since 2001. Their guides and instructors are all experienced practitioners. In addition to ASI SUP, their staff hold other well-recognized qualifications, Mountain Leader, Surf lifeguard, first aid and surf rescue trainer and assessor, Single Pitch Award(rock climbing), trail cycle leader, surf coach and Coasteering guides and guide trainers.
Strive Adventure started offering Stand Up Paddling in 2010 and has been involved with racing, race organizing, and touring. The instructors participate in SUP surf in their personal time and have SUPed all over Scotland and the UK as well as Europe and the US.
Development is in their DNA and they use a whole range of activities to allow as many people as possible to explore and develop an interest and passion for being outdoors. SUP is a perfect and accessible way to explore inland and coastal waters. Stevie Boyle is the Head Coach and he holds ASI Level 1 and Level 2 SUP Instructor accreditation for Enclosed Flat Water and Exposed Waters locations, water rescue, and first aid qualifications. He is assisted in the SUP school with experienced and accredited SUP instructors.
Strive Adventure offers group and private SUP lessons, SUP Tours, and fitness workouts for kids, adults, parties, school groups, backpackers, universities, and corporates. They specialize in water safety and wilderness education.
Lessons are held in the calm, enclosed flat waters of the Musselburgh area and also the exposed waters firth of Forth and North Sea, with stunning coastal scenery, home to grey seals, puffins, gannets and sometimes visited by large pods of dolphins.
The location is less than 25minutes from Edinburgh city center, the birthplace of conservationist John Muir(1838), founder of the National parks movement.
