Best Time to Visit: The best time to visit San Francisco is from September to November. Believe it or not, fall offers some of the city's warmest temperatures year-round, not to mention fewer crowds than summer. Spring is another good time to visit thanks to its mild temperatures and lack of rain (travel.usnews.com)
Distance from Airport: About a 1 hour and 11-minute drive from San Francisco International Airport depending on traffic

Owner bio:
Grew up in Napa valley and been exploring fishing, paddling, the northern reach of San Pablo bay for 30 years - northern reaches of San Pablo bay which includes the Napa river, Petaluma river and the Carneros wildlife all largely undiscovered. a 20 year restoration project of 15000 acres and a 400 million dollar restoration of the Napa river alone all flat-water, tidal, estuary. We started our paddle company in 2012 and expanded to Petaluma in 2016.Paddle experience:
My father was the surf champion of San Diego state and surfed all his life. I grew up on surf safaris with my Dad once or twice a year down to Baja and up and down the California coast. I grew up snowboarding and chasing steelhead in Northern California and Oregon - river rafting, kayaking, etc. I wanted to show people the extraordinary wildlife and nature here on the Napa river. I wanted to show that to people so we built out company to bring access to that.Location highlights:
transition from salt water to fresh water is a very dynamic experience and the scenery on these waterways is extremely divers much like the soils that create the world class wines in this region - constantly engaging to all your senses. The entire experience is tidal so you are riding wind and tides throughout the region. Napa river Spring into June goes form saltwater shore birds into the fresh water forests.Signature paddle:
Every paddle tour is timed to coincide with the wind and the tides to get the best experience. The beauty of operating on the two different rivers that are separated by 20 miles no matter what the day is on the two rivers the tide is the same but the afternoon winds is the opposite. . . so no matter what you can line those up on one river or the other. We get high frequency waves here and it's a really great place to learn to downwind! in Petaluma the wind blows of the pacific through the Petaluma gap and straight down the river every afternoon - all beginner waters but something for everyone. The water in this region is warm water from June through October.Local attractions:
